Five years ago it seemed like Uncle Lucius had run its course. They had torn a swath out of the Texas roots music scene over a 13 year run, worn out 5 vans and recorded 4 albums, and grown a reputation at home and abroad as a thrilling, dynamic live act. Long-time fans were certain they'd be a massive global hit. The only question was when. Growing families demanded their fathers' attention, and years of touring started to feel like circles around a drain. The tide went out, and they folded up their sails. The audience had other ideas. Interest in the band continued to grow during their absence from the touring circuit. Pro athletes used their songs for walk on music, and top-rated television shows (Yellowstone) featured their music during pivotal scenes. "We should have broken up years ago," they joked. They never intended to reunite. Some things are not up to us. intention is well & good, but some people are made to play together, meant to create together. And intuition was their intention, all along. The tides had transferred, the forces realigned. After a five year hiatus, the newly-reformed band have returned. Their most recent studio album "Like It's The Last One Left" carries on the Texas band’s deep rock and blues traditions while covering topics like mental health, love, pride, and self-care.

"Just A Day" just came out, and what better way to celebrate it than The Hanging Stars playing the Loose Takeover stage at The Long Road. Hailed by Shindig! as "an album for the ages", Just A Day is the band's third album recorded at Clashnarrow — owned and run by Edwyn Collins and Grace Maxwell. Their sound draws on The Byrds, Big Star, The Feelies, Teenage Fanclub and Tom Petty. Or think Lou Reed and the Velvets jamming with Gorkys Zygotic Mynci. The result is an album that feels simultaneously classic and vibrant, their influences worn lightly giving the songs room to breathe. Charming and direct, Dylan Earl is easy to root for, having spent many hours behind the wheel, touring extensively, honing his performance and craft for nearly a decade. His last album, "Level-Headed Even Smile", charts territory into his formative years discovering Arkansas, the people who showed him the ropes and back roads; and who he hopes to become. Offering poignant nostalgia, history, and a refreshingly progressive approach to country and western music, his newest effort is rife with wry wit, irreverence, and an endearing desire to color outside the lines. Earl is a welcome, original voice in the scene, finding favor in mainstream and alternative spaces alike as a loveable, alt-country hippie. Travelling counter-culture and across vast expanses, not unlike the inimitable White River in Arkansas, Earl carves a path distinctly his own.

Having carved out a reputation for heartfelt storytelling and timeless songwriting, Sarah Jane Scouten's latest release, the 2025 EP "The Sweetest Homewrecker", follows the acclaimed album "Turned to Gold" and continues her rich blend of folk, country and Americana. Drawing inspiration from Tom Petty, Linda Ronstadt, Emmylou Harris and Christine McVie, her songs explore love, loss, family and transformation with warmth and honesty. A four-time Canadian Folk Music Award nominee, Sarah Jane has performed at renowned festivals across North America and Europe, and shared stages with Ron Sexsmith, William Prince, Martha Wainwright, The Sadies, Allison Russell and Watchhouse.

A rebellious exterior almost always leads to a heart-shaped inside. HORSEBATH are passionate and clownish, belting and romantic. They follow the example of their fellow Canadians The Band in their ability to adapt their musical personality to fit a wide variety of styles and influences, All four members of the group are multi-instrumentalists and songwriters, and the diversity of their skills gives their work a sound that makes room for everything from vintage country-rock to contemplative indie rock. After making a name for themselves through heavy touring, HORSEBATH documented their multifaceted music on their debut album, 2025's "Another Farewell". Their devilish harmonies are the entryway to the big climactic sound that always brings on a dancing crowd.Come on down and check them out.
SLOW MOTION COWBOYS

New Orleans' Slow Motion Cowboys are the soulful country ramblings of songwriter Pete Fields. Prevalent these days in the New Orleans magnetic country scene, Pete and his band play often to the dancing crowds of southern Louisiana and beyond bringing an uptempo groove behind razor sharp lyrics culled from the struggle of modern times. With roots in CA, New Mexico and Texas the band has worked stages throughout the South and Southwest building a strong following through their releases on the Muscle Shoals' label Arkam Records. In 2025, they released "Wolf of St. Elmo", which Uncut gave a 9/10 review of, commenting “it’s a wonderful throwback to early 2000s Americana; languid country with a cosmic backwash that underlies plaintive songs about loss and heartache but always with an undercurrent of hope”.
TREVOR MOSS & HANNAH-LOU

Trevor Moss & Hannah-Lou are an English husband and wife duo, who have been writing and performing together for over 20 years and have so far released five studio albums as a duo, following their debut eponymous album with their former band Indigo Moss. Working with producers including Ethan Johns, Youth, Simon Tong, James Dring, Richard Causon and Dan Carey, they have released music through seminal labels including Big Life (Butterfly), Loose, Heavenly and Three Crows. They have played main stages at Glastonbury, Secret Garden Party, Green Man, Truck, as well as Cambridge Folk Festival, Trans Musicales, Great Escape and many many more. They have toured extensively, on their own bespoke tours of Tin Tabernacles, Village Halls, Working Mens Clubs, Record Stores and by canal boat, and supported the likes of Tori Amos, Damon Albarn, Ron Sexsmith, Beth Orton, The Vaselines, Jools Holland, Ethan Johns, Loudon Wainwright and countless others.
