Jawbone
Jawbone is a one-man-band sonic assault from Detroit that has a sound that strips the blues to its bare-bones with a primaeval stomp that's the missing link between Lightning Hopkins, Zoot Horn Rollo and The White Stripes.

By day he works, like so many in his hometown, in the motor industry but at night, if he's not out gigging or busking around the city he can usually be found lurking in his basement studio at home, where he recorded debut album Dang Blues - an album he described as:

"Over-Driven 12 Volt DC Enhanced Non-Oscillating Six String Harmonicanized Slide-Blues Holler Stomps Of 2-Headed Dogs Hands With 6 Fingers Tombstone Chevys Japanese Zeros Holy Coca-Cola Donkey Oil The German Flu Deathbed Redemption Russian Coal Mine - Amen"

Released in 2004 it immediately caught the attention of John Peel who invited him over for Maida Vale sessions and happily told anyone who'd listen that it was was one of the finest releases of the year.
His support did not go amiss and Jawbone's subsequent tour of the UK was a great success, winning him a loyal following right across the country and two very honourable appearances in the top twenty of Peel's final Festive 50.

Jawbone returned the favour and paid his respects to the late 'n' great DJ with an incendiary slot at the Peel Day show at London's Queen Elizabeth Hall alongside The Fall, Laura Cantrell, Super Furry Animals and New Order.

Since then he's recorded further sessions for Radio 1's Huw Stephens, 6 Music's Gideon Coe, XFM's John Kennedy and Sean Rowley's BBC London show - all the while building up a reputation as one of the most exciting and innovative performers around.

New album Hauling is the sort of follow up his fans have been waiting for. Recorded once again in his basement it's a no frills but all thrills combo of rhythm 'n' booze that Jawbone himself describes as "pre-last war post-next war blues".
