Ever since their boozy show-stopper at The Garage in early April, we’ve been counting down the days ’til Deer Tick return to the UK for a few festival dates. Really, the gig was incredible – if you don’t believe us, check out this review in Uncut.

Well now, in addition to the Summer Sundae Weekender and End of the Road festivals in August, the band have announced a London gig at The Scala on 5th September! Tickets go on sale tomorrow, and you can pick ‘em up here.

Check out the new issue of Uncut magazine – it comes with a free CD featuring two Loose tracks – Deer Tick’s Main Street and Dawes’ Peace In The Valley. (The Dawes track is taken from their debut album North Hills, which we’ll be releasing at the beginning of June.)

You do know it’s Record Store Day this Saturday? We hope you’ll all be heading down to your local record shops and joining in with the celebrations. Find a guide to nationwide in-store goings-on here. We’d tell you to “show your support”, but a better way of doing that would probably be to keep on going back to visit on any of the other 364 days in a year that aren’t Record Store Day. Don’t let Sean put you off.

Although Loose won’t be adding to the exciting list of exclusive releases this year, we will be sending Danny & The Champs off to visit two of our favourite record shops – Diverse Music in Newport and Badlands in Cheltenham. Marvel at these beautiful posters they created especially.

The Champs are due to put in an appearance amongst the shelves of vinyl at Diverse at around about lunchtime. The Badlands show is a full on evening affair at Subtone, for which tickets are available here.

Relix magazine have shared a video of Jim revealing the stories behind some of the tracks off his new album, Where It Hits You.

We do enjoy seeing a good interview with one of our bands. Which is why we’ve taken it upon ourselves to create a new series of short video interviews with members of the Loose collective, running under the name ‘LOOSE TALK’.

We successfully managed to talk two members of Deer Tick into featuring in our first two episodes, shortly before taking to the stage for their sold out show at London’s Garage last week. Our less than encouraging statements of “this is probably going to be really shit” and “it’s just on my phone – I don’t know how to work my phone“, combined with the fact that we forgot to purchase the all important props beforehand (s’ok, we improvised), somehow failed to put them off. Surely things can only improve from here on in.

Amateurish techniques aside, we are pleasantly pleased with the results. Go take a look why don’t you.

We’ve been a little quiet on the Riff Raff front recently, but that’s gonna be changin’ soon. You may well have heard there’s a new album on the way, going by the name of “Lookout Mama”. Well we’ll be bringing you more details of that very soon, but in the meantime, how about this instead:

Watch Hurray for the Riff Raff live on LiveSet.Com this Thursday! The intimate performance will be filmed live from the Art House in New Orleans, HFTRR’s home town. It’ll be 6pm New Orleans time, but if like us, you’re working on GMT, you’ll need to tune into the website from midnight. A late night show, but we’re sure it’ll be something well worth staying up for.

We are very excited to reveal that Jim White will be returning to the UK  in June for a handful of live dates. Jim’s tour kicks off with a show at London’s beautiful Union Chapel- the perfect space to pull up a pew and enjoy some of Jim’s poignant songs off of his latest release, Where it Hits You, along with all those old favourites.
