OX4This weekend sees the launch of another artistic avenue for the good good folks at TRUCK.

“OX4 is a celebration of the artistic talents emerging in and around the postcode of OX4. We’ve always dreamt about bringing that SXSW vibe to our hometown – and now we have!”

It’s all taking place on 10th October, 2009 – across 10 venues all situated on The Cowley Road.

Danny & The Champions of the World and Ralfe Band both play the Baby Simple venue this Saturday (10/10)

OX4 takes place along the entire length of ‘The Cowley Road’ in Oxford.

CATWEAZLE CLUB. For those of you who don’t know (where have you been?) Catweazle Club is an intimate, magical space that allows musicians, singers, poets, storytellers and performance artists of every imaginable hue to grace the stage of the East Oxford Community Centre every week. A chance to sit, to listen, to connect, to inspire and to be inspired …So bring along your instrument or just yourself and get involved!

THE FREE BEER SHOW Oxford’s premier comedy promoters have been tempted eastwards and will be bring their usual mix of great comedy and general mayhem. The line up is on it’s way – so hold tight!

HAMMER & TONGUE Since starting up Hammer & Tongue night six years ago in a city with no grassroots poetry scene, Cowley Road residents Jim Thomas and Steve Larkin’s poetry night has grown into the biggest spoken-word slam promoter in the country. At OX4 they will be presenting a youth poetry slam.
