The Latitude Festival has announced its 2012 lineup, and we are pleased to say that Dawes are a part of the talented bunch.

This year’s festival will be held from July 12th – 15th at Henham Park, Southwold, Suffolk. Other acts include Bon Iver, Laura Marling, Edward Sharpe and the Magentic Zeroes and Jonathan Wilson, amongst many more.

The 180g double LP version of Jim White’s new album, Where It Hits You, is now available the Loose online store.

Described by The Mirror as, ‘an artistic triumph,’ Where It Hits You is White’s first “proper” album since 2008’s Transnormal Skiperoo. And though we didn’t think it was possible, the album sounds even more eloquent on vinyl.

Our supply is limited, so head on over to our shop and pick up your copy today.

Now that we’ve sobered up and the hangovers are looming over us, we’ve managed to just about get it together enough to post a few snaps from last night’s Nashville Babylon. The bands were of course fantastic, much fun was had, far too much whiskey was consumed – everything to plan.

Join us for the next one on the 14th March with The Cedars & The Barker Band. In the meantime, our colourful assortment of Nashville Babylon t-shirts and handkerchiefs (oh yes, hankies) will soon be available from the Loose shop.

The latest edition of Word features interviews with the men behind some “one-man record labels”. One of these men is Tom. He talks about Loose and lies about his age. Check it out below!

We’re very excited to announce the return of London’s finest country clubnight – Nashville Babylon! And what better place to host it than back at the 12 Bar.

Join us on Feb 8th as we welcome the The Arlenes back to the UK, armed with their back catalogue of dreamy country tunes and a number of exciting new songs.

Not only that, but we’ll also have the fantastic Benjamin Folke Thomas kicking things off, so make sure you get down there nice and early.

Tickets are available for £6 from the 12 Bar or by calling 020 7240 2622. Doors at 7pm. See you there folks!

Loose were devastated to learn that Ernesto De Pascale passed away in his hometown of Florence, Italy this weekend, aged 52. Ernesto was a great man. RIP Charlie Louvin

January 28, 2011 Blanche

Sad news that country legend Charlie Louvin passed away on Wednesday, aged 83. Loose were fortunate enough to meet Charlie when he played the BBC Electric Proms back in 2007, along with both The Handsome Family and Blanche. A proper character. We went in search of a some evidence of this event and were rather [...]
