Danny and the Champions of the World

Danny and the Champs will be playing in-store at Diverse Music in Newport on the afternoon of Saturday 21st April, for what is guaranteed to be an extra specially intimate Record Store Day performance. We also hear there will be drinks and nibbles which can only add to the incentive to get yourselves down there. Diverse have created a Facebook events page which tells you about it here.

The band will then be heading down to Cheltenham for Badlands‘ evening event at Subtone on that very same day. This of course means that, not only will Danny & The Champs be playing two different towns in one day, but in two different countries! Tickets for Badlands’ event can be found over here.

It seems like Danny and the Champions of the World never quite stop moving, huh? This time, they’ve added both solo and full-band dates throughout the UK this spring, supporting the likes of Chuck Prophet, Neal Casal, and Deer Tick.

The band will also be playing at a handful of festivals, including the Lazy Bishops Festival, Leigh Folk Festival, and the Cornbury Festival. Check out the list below for their full run.

Feb 14th – we assume you have it marked it your diaries – “Danny & The Champions of the World’s Heart & Arrows album out today on 180g vinyl!!“. No? Well that’s why we’re here – to remind you.

The Champs continue to rock the pubs tonight at The Railway in Winchester, tomorrow at The Greystones in Sheffield, then on to Leicester, Bedford and Gateshead.

On Sunday, they’ll be back in town for the official LP launch at The Paradise, Kensal Rise from 2pm.

Diverse Vinyl will have a pop-up shop, there will be a playback of the LP about 5pm, then Danny will be treating us all to a few songs from the album at 7pm. Say you’ll be there – say it here on the Facebook event page.
